Cinco De Mayo Tips & a Healthy Gauc Recipe


True story! I don’t know about you but the last thing I want to be told is in order to be healthy or in order to live a healthy lifestyle I can no longer eat the things I love. Been there. Done that. It was never sustainable for me. It was frustrating for me. And I found myself having so many moments of “weakness” where I would want to eat all the things I couldn’t eat & then felt like such a failure. It wasn’t a healthy cycle at all. Being able to learn how to enjoy my favorite foods in a healthy way is what has worked for me! No more guilt around food. No more depriving myself. No more binging. It’s pretty freeing. So if you’re feeling frustrated, deprived, guilty or stuck in a rut with your nutrition that’s probably a good sign that it’s time for you to pivot. Tips on how to make better choices tonight & every Taco Tuesday: 🌮Add veggies in your tacos! 🌮Taco salad with lean meat minus the crispy flour shell. 🌮slowly eat the tacos so you can savor each bite instead of looking down & wondering where the twos tacos ran away too (been there before too 😂) 🌮drink 16 ounces of water prior to eating. There is typically extra salt hidden in tacos so staying hydrated will help being puffy the next day & helps you feel more satisfied during your meals. 🌮be mindful about mindless snacking on those chips & salsa that usually get paired with tacos. 😍enjoy the company your eating tacos with Where are all my Mexican food lovers at???? 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻 We could eat Mexican food just about every night of the week could you??? 😋

While you might be stuck at home celebrating Cinco de Mayo… but everything is better with guac! This recipe is healthy, delicious, and the perfect dip to accompany tortilla chips, carrot sticks, bell peppers, or whatever else you like with guacamole!

Ingredients

4 medium ripe avocados

1 medium tomato (seeds removed, finely chopped)

½ red onion

2 medium jalapeños, seeds and veins removed, finely chopped

¼ cup chopped cilantro

2 tbsp fresh lime juice

½ tsp ground cumin

Sea salt + ground white pepper (to taste)

Hot pepper sauce (like Tabasco, to taste)

Instructions

1. Combine avocados, tomato, onion, jalapeños, cilantro, lime juice, and cumin in a large bowl. Mix well.

2. Season with salt, pepper, and hot sauce.

3. Serve and enjoy
