If you love s’mores and dates as much as I do, you have to try these! I love taking a fun recipe I see trending and making it with ingredients I feel good about eating and serving my family. I am not sure why I never thought of this recipe myself. I feel like I am always using dates but whoever did think of this I would like to thank them!

Dates are naturally sweet with a delicious caramel-like flavor, which makes them one of my favorite ingredients for healthier desserts. They also offer some nutritional benefits that make them more than just a sweet treat.

Why I Love Dates

Dates are naturally sweet, but they also provide:

  • Fiber – Helps support healthy digestion and can help you feel satisfied.

  • Potassium – An important mineral that supports normal muscle and nerve function.

  • Magnesium – Plays a role in muscle and nerve function, energy production, and many processes throughout the body.

  • Copper – Supports energy production and helps maintain healthy connective tissues.

  • Antioxidants – Dates contain plant compounds with antioxidant properties that help protect cells from oxidative stress.

  • Natural sweetness – Their rich, caramel-like flavor makes them a great way to add sweetness to recipes without relying solely on refined sugar.

And honestly, I just love that something as simple as a date can be transformed into a dessert that feels indulgent. The ingredients I choose to make these allow this recipe to be grain free, gluten free and dairy free!

Ingredients

How to Make Them

Remove the pits from the dates and gently press each date flat. Spread each one with marshmallow cream, then place a Simply Mills Cinnamon Cracker on top.

Melt the Pascha dark chocolate chips and spoon the melted chocolate over each date. Finish with a sprinkle of Maldon flaky sea salt.

Place them in the freezer for about 10 minutes, or until the chocolate has set.

Store them in a glass container (https://amzn.to/4zhVqSE) in the freezer and enjoy whenever you want a little something sweet.

Because the ingredients matter and this is proof you don't have to give up the foods you love. I will say this is not something I am enjoying daily. It's not a health food. I love s'mores just as they are the problem is I never feel good after I have one and one never feels like enough. This recipe didn't leave me feeling like those do and I can enjoy one without feeling like I need five. I hope you enjoy these.
