Dairy & Gluten Free Magic Bars
I shared one thing that helped me on my weight loss wellness journey was to take the things I enjoyed eating and learn how to make them healthier.
Another thing that really helped me was learning how to fuel my body properly so that I felt full and satisfied throughout the day versus hungry and losing all control at night. I truly did not know how to break that cycle
I am excited to share this holiday recipe with you! This is a “healthier” version of the way I used to make this treat. Instead of seed oils, natural flavors and high fructose corn syrup like the original recipe had this does not and it also has 65% less sugar. With that being said this is still a “treat”. Personally this is not something I would have daily but of course I would savor one every now and then during the holidays.
TIME FOR MAGIC BARS!!!
Ingredients for the base:
2 cups of almond flour
¼ organic maple syrup
¼ cup of organic coconut oil
1 teaspoon of vanilla
Magic Filling Ingredients:
2 cans of Let’s Do Organic condensed milk (this helps reduce the sugar intake big time)
1 ½ cups of Pascha Chocolate no sugar added dark chocolate (also reduces sugar)
1 cup of chopped pecans (raw are best)
3 Cups of unsweetened coconut (I like using a mixture of flakes and shredded)
Turn the oven on to 350. Grab a 9x9 glass pan. Line it with parchment paper, along with the sides or use organic coconut oil to line the bottom and sides. Do not skip this part, if you do the bars will stick to the pan. Make the base by mixing all the ingredients together. Then place in the pan and press firmly down, then bake for 14 minutes. While that is baking you can make the magic mixture by adding all the ingredients to a bowl and mixing together. AFter the base is baked, place the magic mixture on top and place back in the oven for 15 minutes. Next part is very important. Let the glass cool down and once it does place the pan in your freezer for two hours. Then you can take the pan out, slice the bars and serve. I store it in the fridge or freezer in a freezer safe glass container. If you need containers here are some non toxic ones: https://amzn.to/4iM2BtT
I hope you love these and it helps you enjoy some of your favorites in a healthier way this holiday season.
