My Journey with Barre

I am so thankful I embraced a journey I almost didn't begin...

When I first heard that Barre would be the next workout program I would begin with my clients, I was excited for my clients but not so excited for myself. For years I have had clients asking when would I be working with a celebrity trainer to bring Barre to them and I was excited I could finally tell them I could. I wasn't excited about Barre for myself becasue I got all in my head. I thought this wouldn't push me enough, I am not a dancer and a zillion other reasons came to mind...but part of my job as an accountability coach is to test all the workouts that are provided by the celebrity trainers I work with so I decided to change my mindset, refuse any excuses that came to mind and just go all in giving each day the best I could.


If you are thinking I really want to do this "BUT"....let me tell you all the reasons why whatever is causing you to say "but" not get in your way because believe me I totally get it! I literally could have had every excuse as to why I couldn't have embraced this journey like I did. Besides being in my own head, my husband was gone every single week traveling, I was diagnosed with bronchitis which lasted 5 weeks, my daughter was very ill (surgery was involved, multiple doctors visits weekly, around the clock care administering medicines every few hours even during the night for two weeks), my son was hit with a high fever virus for 6 days, we got a new puppy, I work full time, basketball games/practices, track, football workouts, plus did I mention I am on my own no family here, so ya'll I could have told you my plate is too full and I am too overwhelmed by my life to commit to this but instead I realized my mind, body and soul desperately needed to embrace this journey more than ever.

So what did it look like?

  • I made sure to hold myself accountable by checking into my accountability group every single day.(you get to be a part of this with us too)

  • I felt less stressed implementing these workouts and Elise (the trainer) being so positve along with encouraging throught these workouts. I felt like she was telling me what I needed to hear each day.

  • I didn't feel like my body was getting beat up, but it was burning in all the right places & strengthening it in areas it needed

  • although my body was tired with the little sleep I was getting, my body felt thankful, stronger, less stressed/overwhelmed & more energized after each one of these workout sessions.

  • I made sure to fuel my body properly (I provide all the tools to help you do this) but I also made sure to enjoy a couple icea cream dates with my kids, so acai bowls with my family along with friends, date nights that involved margarittas with chips & tacos and some treats out with friends. I didn't go overboard but I did indulge and enjoy myself once a week.

  • Every single day I fueled my body with Shakeology(every client gets this in their package) making sure my body was getting the nutrients and vitamins it needs to feel it's best.

  • Everyone that commits to this program is gifted a box of these beautiful daily mindset cards and y'all these cards have been such gifts. The have a word and then a psoitve mantr attached to that word. Each day a felt a little more empowered as I picked one these cards to read aloud.

My hope is by sharing my journey with you it inspires those that need to feel as good as I do from within to have the courage to embrace this 8 week journey with me in my next Barre Test group that begins March 9th.
