Did you know that the average person puts on 7-10lbs between November and December? I know prior to learning how to create a healthier lifestyle, while still being able to enjoy the holidays I would always gain weight during this time of year. Partly because at this point I use to think why not enjoy whatever I want and then worry about on Janaury 1st. It was a vicous cycle every single year for me. Whether it was baking holiday cookies, office treats that were endless or the holiday parties I didn't seem to know when to stop. I found myself constatntly overindulging and then continuing the overindulging. The problem was I was never feeling well, lacking energy and feeling more uncomfortbale in my own skin. So uncomfortable in my own skin I skipped our family holiday photo for five years in a row. Not only would I skip those photos, I would delete any I could get my hands on. It makes me feel so sad that I have years of my life and moments with my children undocumented because of how poorly I felt in my own skin. I don't ever want to go back to feeling that way and I want to help others not feel this way any longer as well. It's one of the reasons why I am so passionate about what I do. I struggled for so many years and rember feeling so hopeless. Was I ever going to feel confident? Was I ever going to learn how to stop relying on food or wine to make me feel better? Was I ever going to feel proud of the example I was settling for my three children? Today I can finally say YES to it all.
Investing in my wellbeing was the best gift I could have veer given myself and it was also the best gift I could have given my hsuband along with my three children. My husband finally has a wife that can accepts his sweet compliemnts without feeling like gosh I am so gross how can he think I am pretty. I no longer find myself crying in the dressing rooms because I have to go up another size, again. I finally feel proud that I am showing my kids how they should be treating their bodies by fueling them properly and getting in those good sweat sessions. If I want them to grow up to be healthy adults mentally & physically then it's my job to show them how to do that. I wasn't doing that before because I honestly did know how to do that. Now its not just my lifestyle, its our lifestyle.
