Finally Living Life Comfortably In My Own Skin

Maybe you look at this picture and you just see a mom with her daughter. Maybe you look at this picture and you think I could lean out more or maybe you feel embarrassed for me. (I get messages all the time about how others can help me lean out more or get "skinny" or how I should be embarrassed by this picture) Maybe you look at this picture and think I would never put a picture like this out there on social media. Maybe you look at this picture & think I wish I could feel this comfortable in a bathing suit to not care what others think.

Whatever you may be thinking I want to you know what this picture means to me. I remember how I felt at that exact moment and it's important I share it with you this Transformation Tuesday.

When I started my journey on a healthier lifestyle I thought I needed to see a certain number on the scale and on my clothing in order to feel good, but here's the thing. I once weighed that number and was that size and GUESS WHAT????? I wasn't happy in my own skin. I critiqued everything I saw in that mirror and constantly felt my body wasn't good enough.

Then I put on 50 pounds, 50 inches, could barely squeeze into a size 16 or an extra large shirt and would look at those pictures of the old me and thought gosh why did I ever think those things about myself then? I would be so happy to look like that again! Do you ever think that?

Yes I needed to lose weight and shed inches to have a healthier body, but what I really needed to work on was having a healthier mind set. I needed to talk kinder to myself, about myself and set a better example for my children. I didn't want them to ever think or feel this way about themselves.

This Transformation Tuesday I celebrate the transformation that has happened on the inside. I am celebrating this perfectly imperfect healthy mind and body! This mom no longer hides or avoids any situation that involves a bathing suit. I no longer feel ashamed of this body. I am proud of this hard working body. It has carried babies, it works hard for me everyday and it does the best it can to live a healthier lifestyle from the inside out. It is absolutely freeing to not let that scale or the numbers on my clothing dictate my mood or dictate anything in my life for that matter. I know I am doing the best I can to fuel it properly and keep it active.

This year I didn't miss a moment to be in a bathing suit! Where just a few years ago these things would have never happened! I snorkeled with my family, body boarded, we did stand up paddle boarding, I played games on the beach, I did jumping contests in the pool, we jumped waves together & it felt damn good to be enjoying this life the way all mom's and women should be living it!

Yes I have had a HUGE physical transformation, but most importantly is the internal transformation! Every single person deserves to feel this good in their own skin! I publicly share my journey because I don't want anyone to live their life the way I use to and I am on a mission to help as many people as I can get healthier from the inside-out!

If you are ready to feel this good, then come join my virtual accountability group on August 7th! You deserve to know what this feels like and I would be honored to help you get there!
