Our Ultimate Reset Journey Week One

Welcome to our journey with the Ultimate Reset. So many people have been asking me why I am doing this when I already eat healthy or have said you look great you don't need this. This isn't about looking great & yes we do eat very healthy, this is about knowing what our bodies will feel like being fueled properly 100% of the time, riding toxins & kicking any poor habits that were trying to creep back in after almost 3 weeks of vacation. I am going to share with you what this is, what it entails, how much weight we have lost so far, what our meals looked like & what we experienced-the good along with not so great moments. First off you may be wondering what makes this much more effective than the typical cleanse & detox programs out on the market? First off let me explain that this is not just a cleanse, although you will experience benefits of a cleanse. This is a "no starving" multifaceted, life-changing, cutting-edge, "this is the real deal" inner-body tune up. We call it that because this does so much more than just a cleanse. It does help your body eliminate waste, gently & naturally. It also will help revitalize your body & mind, along with fueling your body with the micronutrients & macronutrients it craves. So let me share with you how this works. It is a 21 day program, with three distinctive phases. Each phase will last one week, with a post-Reset transitional phase where you will gradually return to your "normal" based diet or you may not want to after this experience. This past week is known as phase 1. Phase one is all about reclaiming your body, accessing it's inner chemistry & preparing fro change. You will gradually remove red meat & dairy which are known to place stress on the digestive system (it can also tilt your body towards a more acidic state), from your diet for the duration of the reset. You will be introduced to four supplements in week one- Power Greens, Mineralize, Optimize & soothe. There is a scheduled laid out on when to take these items throughout your day. You will also be hydrating your body all day long with a lot of water. The ultimate reset provides all your recipes & your grocery list for the week. Here is what week one looked like for me (notice additional snack choices are listed in case I was hungry I could add one of those options in).

When creating your meal you can change the lunches or dinners. If you know you will not like something you can substitute with a list of other options. I doubled up a few options because I knew I would enjoy them.

Those are the supplements I start my morning off with & then I would wait 30 minutes to eat my breakfast. Below is a picture of what my breakfast looked on week one. Scrambled eggs with spinach & Ezekiel bread. I enjoyed this breakfast a lot.

Below is lentil lime salad. Your serving size is 1 cup. It was super easy to make & I liked it because it was filling. I purchased the lentils already cooked & nothing added to them like preservatives from Trader Joes.

Recipe (makes 8-10 servings): 1 package of lentils from Trader Joe's 5 large carrots shredded or thinly sliced 1/2 cup of finely shredded cilantro 1 1/2 tbsp. of sesame oil 4 tbsp. of fresh squeezed lime 1 tbsp of Bragg Liquid Aminos Grind Pink Himalayan salt to taste 1 tsp. of Cumin or any herbal seasoning of your choice The mix all the ingredients together & place in the fridge for 2 hours before serving. You can portion them out so that way you have grab & go servings ready in your fridge after it marinates.

I stamped my name all over this Shakeology recipe. It helped me so much with my cravings, kept me full & is delicious! FreshFitKate Shake: 1 scoop of chocolate shakeology 9 ounce of water 12-15 ice cubes 1 tbsp. of almond butter 1/2 frozen banana You may add Kale or Spinach if you missed your salad or a veggie at any point. Place everything in the blender & blend for 1 minute 1 tsp. Unsweetened coconut on top (make sure it has no added sulfates or preservatives, just coconut)

This was our dinner for Taco Tuesday. Even though I was really craving chips, salsa, guacamole & a margarita this ended up hitting the spot & being delicious.

Below are some of the things I ate & made during the day. As a snack I had 1 cup of fresh berries with 3/4 cup of plain Siggis yogurt, then sprinkled cinnamon on top. That was my favorite snack to have during week one. I also roasted raw pumpkin seeds to add to my salads, used the recipe provided to make a few different homemade salad dressing options. The food from week one was great & we enjoyed the recipes we chose to make.

Day two my husband & I both had bad caffeine headaches. We also had terrible leg pain for a couple days, which was from our body detoxing. A lot of people report very sore legs or back. So soaking in a warm bath with Epsom salts helped a lot. We were foggy mentally, very tired & had some strong cravings. After being on vacation for almost three weeks where we ate clean about 75% of the time & indulged in treats or alcoholic beverages, I am pretty sure both of our bodies were in shock. It was all about mind over matter & each day we got through it we felt even more empowered. I was so nervous about this first week, especially cutting out our morning coffee which we both love so much, but to be honest it was not as bad as I thought it would be. Yes I had moments where I wanted to quit or snack. I would ask myself if I was hungry enough to eat a handful of carrots & if the answer was no then I would drink water & I would be fine. I was not starving by any means, the plan has you eating a good amount of food. HERE OUR THE BENEFITS FROM WEEK 1: •we are sleeping better •we have been fine without our morning coffee & caffeine free (which shocks us) •we both have clearer minds •the scale is moving down, 6 pounds for my husband & down 3 pounds for me •we are both feeling pride about not cheating or slipping up for 8 days •we feel lighter, bloat is gone completely Week 2 is beginning today. This means we will start following a vegan meal plan for the next two weeks. We will also be adding in two more supplements. Cheers to not cheating or any slip up all week even during Mother's Day Celebrations!!!
