Turn Your Passion Into Your Paycheck
I need to share this to all of you that are letting fear prevent you from going after your dreams or maybe you are letting the opinions of others hold you back. I know I almost let those things stop me from turning my passion into my paycheck. Tax time normally doesn't excite me, make me beam with pride or leave me feeling giddy but this year it did!
First I need to explain a few things. Two years ago I officially closed the doors to my interior decorating business to solely work on my coaching business & I was scared, but my gut along with my heart were telling me to take this leap. We knew financially we would take a loss because it takes a lot of hard work to build a business. This isn't a get rich pyramid scheme, it's a legit business. So my first year in the business I definitely did not surpass my previous income, but I knew if I kept working hard, kept my intentions true, put people before profit & pursued this passion I felt it would all work out. Last year at tax time I did feel a bit defeated because I worked so hard & my taxes seem to reflect something differently...but I did not let that stop me from giving it my all again in 2016.
This year was an entire different story.
Tax Advisor: I see you are still a fitness & lifestyle coach.
Me: yes I am
TA: Did you get a raise? ME: no I didn't
TA: did you go from part time to full time? ME: no working the same hours I was last year
TA: wow...congratulations are in order on tripling your income in one year!!! Me: blushing...awe thank you so much
Long pause...
TA: How is this even possible?
Me: I think when you are so passionate about what you do in life, you give it all you have & eventually all that heart & hard work pays off.
So many people thought I was crazy, they questioned why I would ever pursue something like this & I was told multiple times to my face (and behind my back) this would never go any where.
I want you to know that if something is pulling at your heart strings, you get the feeling in your gut & you can't stop thinking about pursuing something...GO AFTER IT!!! No one is living your life but you. Do not let fear or other people's opinions stop you from pursing what sets your soul on fire. Be Fearless & believe in yourself....besides we spend most of our life working don't you want to do something that you look forward to & allows you to live this life to the fullest???
