I Listened To My Gut And Not The Opinions Of Others

Have you ever let the opinions of others stop you from taking a leap of faith or has it ever prevented you from truly believing in yourself? I know I have. I was approached 3 times about becoming a Fitness & Lifestyle coach with Beachbody. My immediate thought: ME? I don't think so. Although I absolutely loved all the changes that were happening in my life with clean eating, Shakeology, working out from home, the support from my coach & online accountability groups, I couldn't help but hear all the opinions of others replaying in my head:
"that's not a real job"
"that's not what you went to school for"
"that is a pyramid scheme"
"You do not look like a "Beachbody" coach"
"you already have a job"
"you can't make a real living from this type of job"
"do you really want to be in sales"
"what will people think of you"
I contemplated about taking this leap of faith for a while. I seemed to care more about what others thought, than I did myself....over time this just didn't sit well with me anymore. The longer I was on my own journey of changing my lifestyle, the more passionate I became & the more I truly wanted to help others feel as good as I was feeling from the inside-out. So when my coach said "Katie I really think you are meant to do this" I said to her "I think I am too". Every part of my gut was telling me to jump all in & take this leap of faith. I can tell you that I am truly 100% grateful I trusted my gut & stopped listening to everyone else's opinion.
Yes I went to school for sports marketing, then back to school to become a certified interior decorator. Yes I owned my own interior decorating company called: Embellish & I love what I did, but I felt like something was missing in my life & I could not put my finger on it. Even though becoming a coach was not something I had ever planned on doing or would have ever considered in the past, it has been life changing for my family & I. I honestly feel completely blessed for this opportunity. Sometimes I ask myself if this is really happening, because it's so far from any position I have ever held or experienced in the corporate world & here are just a few of the reasons why:
I work from home while the kids are at school & around their schedules
When my children are home sick, I don't have to miss work, find someone to cover for me or feel like I am disappointing my boss or coworkers (especially when my husband travels for work, this helps a lot)
I get to drive my kids to school, meet them for lunch, volunteer & get to be the first one to hear about their day
I have earned a trip for my husband & I for helping others feel as good as I do & we are headed Jamaica & to the Bahamas in a few weeks. Next Year we are going to Punta Cana (this is the first time I have ever owned a passport in my entire life...crazy right?)
I get paid to share my journey with eating clean, working out from home, drinking shakeology and inspiring others to do the same
I get to help men, women & families get healthier & feel better than ever
I do not dread Mondays or any day for that matter
I finally feel like I am making my mark on this earth
This job is helping me stay accountable on my own journey
I am surrounded by positive, hardworking, inspiring, uplifting amazing people who have become some of my closest friends (bonus we get to travel together)
I love that I am now helping provide things for my family, that I only dreamed of being able to provide for them.
The harder I work, the more I get paid
I get rewarded & recognition monthly for my hard work
I have one heck of a team that I get to work with
I actually wake up excited every single morning to go to work
If you have been following me & you are curious about what this "coaching" thing is, wondering if this could be right for you, then I would love for you join me for a virtual open house this Wednesday night (no strings attached). Do not let the fear or opinions of others prevent you from taking a leap of faith...sometimes the best plans are the ones we didn't plan ourselves.
