How To Save $17.50 On Groceries With No Coupons

I hear time and time again that people don't even try to eat healthy because they know how expensive it is, especially when having a family. I have to say, I actually spend less money now that we eat clean, meal plan and prep our food. I really focus on having my fridge full verses having my pantry full and prior to eating clean, if our pantry wasn't filled to the brim then everyone in my house complained we had no food. We went from five full shelves of processed food, to only one shelf full. My kids still want to have snacks, bars and treats. I had to do a lot of research to find options of different foods that they would still like, but would be healthier options for them to snack on. I am hoping this post will help you learn that you can save money and eating healthier will save your money too. If you have a Big Lots store by you, then you are in luck! My kids are all growing and always hungry, but since eating clean they actually get full on the things they eat. Where before they could pound a sleeve of oreos and a glass of milk and still be starving. I talk about recognizing this with them. I say things like: you see how when you eat that apple with peanut butter you feel full and satisfied, but you don't feel that way with Oreos and milk? At the ages 10, 12, and 14 I am teaching them to create habits that will help them so much as adults. The great thing about clean eating is the 80/20 rule.
