Tips On How To Not Gain Weight This Holiday Season
Every holiday it was so easy for me to pack on the pounds, heck it was an excuse to overindulge until you felt sick...at least that was how I always lived my life. I have always loved food and I have always loved sugar. I have never been that girl to have one cookie or just one little taste. So how did I go from a sugar loving-over indulging person who always packed on the pounds to losing weight during the holidays? I wish I had one simple answer, but the truth of the matter was it took many changes to make one big change. So here are my tips to help you the holiday season!

Tip #1: Always make sure you are drinking enough water throughout the day. Carry a large water bottle, at least 20 ounces everywhere you go. Tip #2: If you know you are attending a party where there will not be any healthy options, then bring them. I joke that my signature dish is a veggie tray.
Tip #3: Make sure when dishing up a dinner plate or ordering from a restaurant you are loading up on vegetables and lean meats. Be mindful of the potatoes, stuffing and dressings that go on your plates.
Tip #4: Eat a large salad or drink Shakeology before heading out the door. This way you know you have started your night off with great healthy choices.
Tip #5: Enjoy your favorite foods, but not all your favorite foods. The other night I decided I was either going to have a glass of wine or dessert, not both. I chose a glass of wine. When dessert came, I made sure to get into conversations and politely pass on any sugar.
Tip #6: Planning & prepping as many meals and snacks for the week will set you up for success and will revert you from making prom last minute choices especially when you happen to be starving.
Tip#7: Drink hot green tea. This is a great choice for when you are not really hungry, but maybe are bored or find yourself about to begin mindless snacking.
