Feels So Good To Know I Am So Much More Than A Number


Something happened to me over the weekend when I was away with my husband. For the first time in years I felt something, I didn't think was possible in feeling again unless I was a size 6 or saw a certain number on the scale. I got dressed up and I looked in the mirror and I couldn't believe what I felt.....I felt good, I felt comfortable and it felt so wonderful. Normally I would have a large purse to hide behind and would keep my jacket on the whole night and if asked to... take my coat off I would say " no thank you-I just can't warm up" (even if I was sweating in my coat). Some people are lucky-they don't know what it feels like to be overweight or feel ashamed or uncomfortable in everything they put on. For me its never been about what people thought of me, its always been what I have thought and felt about myself. For the first time in many years I got dressed up to go out and I felt good again. It didn't matter what the scale read or what the size on my tag read-I felt good. This journey I have been on has not only been so great physically, but mentally. It's horrible how our own image of ourselves can be distorted and we are our own worst enemy. I have learned to have patience, to be good to my body and to treat it the way it should be treated. We all need to be better to ourselves, to learn to love ourselves and to be thankful for our health. Don't take these things for granted, work hard to get your self healthy because this is the only body we are given-treat it that way and watch what happens. After a solid 8 months of dedicating myself to clean eating, Shakeology and working out I can tell you it has been so worth it!
